Dubai is not all skyscraper and shopping malls — although it has a fair few of both. It is also the beaches, water parks, dune bashing, camel rides, creeks, mountains and botanical gardens. So get out of the shopping malls and discover Dubai’s great outdoors. It has Iconic Projects like the tallest building in the world and one of the biggest mall in the world. Shopping in Dubai is a mix of both high-end brands and traditional souks. From mega-malls with designer brands and indoor aquariums to street souks where you find gold, traditional spices, and fabrics. Dubai is a man-made city of wonders.
This is again an unplanned trip of mine. When my college people said we are going to Dubai for our internship I was very excited for two things. The one I can visit a new country and two I am traveling with my best friends. As soon as we landed in Dubai we moved to Novotel in World Trade Centre which has an amazing view and a huge breakfast spread, I had the best Croissant there. First three days in Dubai I got to work in the most iconic fashion week FFD (Fashion Forward Dubai) where I met many designers and world famous bloggers. I have learned a lot about what actually happens at a fashion week and that was my first time watching international designer shows. We got an opportunity working for a backstage as well as front desk. It’s a dream of many fashion enthusiasts to be at a show where Hussein Bazaza showcased his collection and Elie Saab came to watch. It was a unique and great experience.
After my internship, I have extended my stay to 4 more days to explore Dubai. It is a place where you see insanely luxurious things like Bugatti taxi, Lamborghini cop cars, Gold ATMs and hotels costing a bomb ( with the same amount you can buy a house in Hyderabad 😛 ). So I was searching for the things within my budget and constantly searching for deals online. You need a lot of money in your bank account to shop, eat and to actually explore the true Dubai.
Dubai mall is my favorite which alone takes 2 days to explore all the stores and activities(you have an app called TheDubaiMall which is extremely helpful, without this you may get lost in the mall 😛 ). So after giving one complete day to Dubai mall, I am left with 3 days only where one day I went to Emirates mall followed by a party at ‘Level 43 Sky Lounge, Sofitel’ with amazing Dubai skyline view. The other day I visited Burj Khalifa 124 & 125th floor followed by ‘Belgian Beer Cafe, Madinat Jumeirah’. We fell in love with Madinat, Jumeirah and wanted to go there again the next day morning to see how it looks in the day. We started our day with exploring stores and restaurants at Madinat continued by little gold shopping in the famous Gold Souk and ended with the desert safari in the evening followed by a traditional dance performance, sheesha, and dinner.
This trip has me 60,000 rupees for 8 days. If you take emirates flight it will cost you 70-80K.
